1. Overview
Approver Delegation for Jira allows users to automatically route approval responsibilities to a designated substitute when they are unavailable. The app provides a secure, immutable record of all delegations, ensuring that work continues smoothly without bottlenecks while maintaining strict audit trails.
Before you start: delegations can only be created once a Jira administrator has registered at least one field under Delegation Fields. Until that is done, the Add delegation button is unavailable and the app shows a setup message instead of the delegation form.
The app is available in English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese (Brazil). It follows your Jira language setting automatically.
2. Navigation & Entry Points
Accessing and moving around the application is designed to be straightforward from your standard Jira workspace.
Jira Apps Menu: You can open the application directly from the main Jira apps menu via the Jira logo.
App Sidebar Menu: Once inside, a dedicated left sidebar exposes the main destinations: My Delegations, All Delegations (for administrators), and Add Delegation.
Help: the sidebar also exposes a Help section with two links — Documentation (this guide) and Contact Support, which opens our support portal.
3. Delegation Management
